# Joining a Class

> Scan a code, enter one manually, or find your teacher by name.

## Join a class

From your **[Classes](https://www.trackademi.com/en/student/classes)** page, open **Join a Class**. You have two ways in:

### Scan or enter a code

Your teacher can show you a QR code or give you a short class code (something like `TWJBJQ`). Scan it with your camera, or type it in manually if you can't scan.

### Find your teacher

If you don't have a code, search for your teacher by name and browse the classes they teach, then request to join the one that's right for you.

## After you request to join

Your request goes to the teacher — it isn't automatic. Until they respond, the class shows up in your **[Classes](https://www.trackademi.com/en/student/classes)** list marked as **pending**. Once the teacher accepts, it switches to active and you have full access (materials, exams, attendance, grades). If they decline, the request is removed.

  Trying to join a class you're already in, using a full class's code, or an invalid code all give you a clear message explaining why — nothing fails silently.
