# Tracking Your Child's Performance

> Grades, attendance, and what your notifications mean.

## The performance view

For each linked child, your [dashboard](https://www.trackademi.com/en/parent) shows their grade average, attendance rate, and how many classes they're in — plus a plain-language flag when something needs attention (for example, if attendance is dropping enough to affect their grades). Open a child for the fuller picture: grades by class, attendance history, and behavior notes their teacher has logged.

## Notifications

You're notified automatically when:

* Your child is marked **absent** from a class
* A new **grade** is posted
* A **behavior note** is logged that your child's teacher flagged for parent notification

You don't need to check in constantly — these come to you as they happen. The notification bell in the header shows everything at a glance.

## Messaging teachers

Direct messaging with your child's teachers is part of the paid subscription. If you see a **Subscribe** option instead of a message box, that's expected on the free tier — subscribing unlocks messaging along with the full detailed record across all your child's classes and teachers.

## Multiple children

If you have more than one child linked, each gets their own card on your dashboard with their own grades, attendance, and notifications — nothing is mixed together.
